# Login Process

> Signing in, recovering a password, and what to expect if something goes wrong.

## Signing in

* Open the login page. If you are already signed in, you are taken straight to your home dashboard
* Enter your player name or email address, and your password
* Submit to sign in

Additional sign-in methods may be available depending on the deployment.

## If you cannot get in

* **Forgotten password** — use the "Forgot your password?" link to have a reset link emailed to you
* **No account yet** — use the link on the login page to register
* **Error on submit** — the reason is shown inline beneath the form, so you can correct it and retry
* **Sent to the login page unexpectedly** — protected pages redirect you to sign in when your session has expired; signing in again returns you to what you were doing

## Notes

Sessions are established securely, and repeated failed attempts are throttled to protect your account.
