# Event Chat

> Chat with players and admins during events.

Every event has a chat, open to all participants and to the admins running it. Open it from the **Chat** tab on the event page.

Event chat is the fastest way to reach an admin while an event is live — a scheduling problem or a disputed result is far easier to resolve there than after the event has closed.

## How it works

* All players in the event and the admins can post
* A profanity filter runs on every message, and messages containing banned words are deleted automatically
* Matches have their own separate chat between the two opponents and admins — see [Matches](/events/matches)

## Moderation

Admins can:

* Update the banned word list
* Mute individual players
* Delete messages and review chat history
* Enable **Slow Mode** to cap how many messages a player can send per minute
* Enable **Admin Only** so only admins can post
